Hello everyone.

I have been checking the past status of the SWC and am seeing delays, what is causing these?

I have a trip coming up to Las Vegas(via thruway), thinking I better pack some extra snacks and water for Raton. I do hope the train is not delayed coming in to Raton, it's a boring station with not much in it. Can I really count on Julie for updated and correct arrival times? In case I want to venture over to the stores across the street.

Does anyone know if the new Kingman station has vending machines?

Thanks :)

There have been a variety of problems: slow orders on the track between Raton and Lamy (now repaired), increased coal traffic east of Trinidad (still a problem), and diversions of trains in Kansas and east because of the continuing problems with flooded track (the same problem that has been delaying 5 and 6). Plus, the meet points are far apart in New Mexico and often the sidings have hand-thrown switches. It does seem to be getting better.

In my last trip to Las Vegas, I did not get in the station as it was closed. Other passengers in the van needed to use the restroom, so the driver stopped at a convenience/gas station a few blocks away. So once in the van ask him if he would stop, they seem to be quite accommodating.

"Julie lies." Yeah, that was the catch phrase all along our journey. But it's fun to call her none-the-less. I should clarify that, she gives accurate information about 10 minutes out of the station, the same time that the conductor is announcing the train's approach to the station and to check around your seat... It's like, "thanks for nothin' Julie!"

I saw a guest mentioned above some of the slow orders have been dealt with? Is that just on Raton, or is some of the Kansas lines getting some attention? Last I heard, BNSF was basically refusing to do any maintenance to get tracks over 40mph, and the rail was pretty battered.
