    Proposed Silver Service Schedule

Thanks for the info on the schedules, very interesting proposals that I like a lot, although I will sort of miss the night departure of 97. I think the new schedules will work out well though. I like the idea of the expanded Star consist, but I'm assuming that this mean no change with the...

The First Fully Rebuilt Superliner I Sleeper

When the table, near the windows is pulled out in a Viewliner, it shows the pointless arrow logo, which is a minimal detail. Really, blue fabric in a deluxe room? I'm interested in your opinion on that. As for what you said about the Superliner I refurbs being together in a consist, thats...

The First Fully Rebuilt Superliner I Sleeper

I agree with Amfleet, I hope that this kind of attention will continue towards the Superliners. As for the Viewliners, I think that they definitely could use this kind of attention (the color scheme works alright for the most part, but the cars still have the good old pointless arrow present in...

The First Fully Rebuilt Superliner I Sleeper

NARP's website has just put up photos of a fully rebuilt Superliner I Sleeper. Click Here to see a description and photos of the car, #32016. I think it looks outstanding, another great job from Beech Grove! :D B)

    Athearns Amd-103 Phase V

I've had my 204 for a while and its been working very well. I'd love to get a 207 but right now its not really in my budget.

    Rumors are flying

I agree, that splitting the train sounds more realistic that the other method. I think if it happens it may indeed be an improvement in service. The only drawback I could see was it would take a sleeper away from ORL if one is placed on the TPA section. My other question would be would both...

    The s#*t hits the fan!!!

Joe, sorry to hear that things are getting worse, after they started to get the slightest bit better. Hopefully things will get back to abnormal soon!

    Just out of curiosity...

While I can't say for certain what the official policy is, I do know that playing cards certainly aren't outlawed in the lounge (in fact they're sold in the lounge). Chances are that as long as it doesn't make a lot of noise, or get anybody too annoyed, you won't have too much trouble. Again...

    Silver Service is falling apart!!!

While I think its been said very well by everybody, I'd also like to thank you Joe. You guys are doing the best that you can with what little you've got. Even though Silver Service has been getting out late, the important thing is that it does leave, and that the equipment can make it to its...

    Poll on LDT frequency

Face it, we'd all like more frequencies on most, if not all routes. Realistically, we don't have the equipment, not to mention the funding for it, unfortunately.

All Amtrak trains to become non-smoking

Personally, I'm glad to see these trains go non smoking, and I think the original configuration is logical. I was glad to have an as-built lounge in April, it was nice to be able to take advantage of the seats and I like the configuration. I'm sure that as long as the box is there, there will...

91 on the Ground in Auburndale

Right now all I know is that 97 will run down to Auburndale to take on the Remainder of 91's consist (Dorm, Sleepers, Diner, Lounge, Coaches). It will then go up through Lakeland, wye, and head back on its normal route south to Miami.

91 on the Ground in Auburndale

834 will Deadhead on 97 to Auburndale to take P-42 #20 and Baggage Car #1851 back to Sanford if they're released. The symbol used for this move is P357-08

91 on the Ground in Auburndale

I just got another call, the latest is as follows: P-40 834 is running light to Auburndale at 30 mph, and will move 91 into a nearby siding or yard, and P091 is annulled. No word on 97.

91 on the Ground in Auburndale

I just got word from Sean Gilliam that 91 is on the ground in Auburndale. Fortunately, its only P-42 #20 and Baggage Car #1851 (one of the Vermonters) that are on the ground, according to him. 91 may be combined with Train 97, may combine the train or 97's crew may be split with 1 conductor...

    Supertrain.. really something to witness

The Silver Meteor is Finally Back! :D Unfortunately Today's 97 is 2:27 late as of its NWK departure (left NYP 2:29 Down). Todays 98 departed on time but as of Savannah is 2:20 down. :( The important thing is that the Silver Meteor is back! :D B)

    448 (27) in Pittsfield

In all likelihood, it probably was. It would be sensible that the car got shifted in Chicago. I wish I could've seen the number.

Regional 66/67 Being Extended to NPN

I know thats the situation, what I had meant to imply was that it would take years, because in all likelihood, it wouldn't/couldn't occur until Amtrak can purchase more cars, which will probably take years to get the funding for, not to mention construction. The Palmetto should be priority over...

Phase VI and the Heritage Fleet

On my way to New York for the baseball game today, I of course took NJ Transit in, which is another part worth mention itself. Just past Secaucus on the way in, the Three Rivers, train 41 headed to Chicago passes us. It was a typical consist, with one noteable exception. The baggage car...
