Could EMDI be something that would help Amtrak

Can't wait to see people trying to carry all their luggage through the train at speed to get to the special car that detaches at their station stop.

Also can't wait to see how well Amtrak manages to maintain equipment that's just slowly working through the system at each small town, and probably won't get back to an endpoint for 30+ days.

Does this company also have some nice bridges to sell to Amtrak?

Slip Coaches were only slip off. For the whole scheme to work there would require to be "Slip ON" too, and I don't think there ever has been one of those that anyone quite figured out how to technically do it reliably without mishaps, even at 30mph.

But then again with short EMUs with Scharfenberg Couplers to split/join quickly while stationary and with dense CBTC technology to run 'em in dense formation, why bother adding that complication?
