Honestly, notwithstanding the insistence of the border folks to put people in one class or another, I wish they'd cut back to a single Am-II, move the cafe to one side of it and the Am-Is, and sell the Am-II as an upgrade. I know I'd have tossed an extra $20-30 down for that without blinking.

I disagree. I think they should go all Amfleet II or improve some Amfleet Is to LD standards and run those cars. Then block all short-distance travel south of ALB.

See you when you get back then. :D

Inside joke, right?

I think its a joke about the different standards used by the border guards. Its easier to get into Canada then out of it. :D At least thats how I read it.

Somewhat inside joke. I think he's implying Penny might make a wrong turn and not find her way out of Canada.

I have complete confidence she'll find her way...as long as there are no Whole Foods in Canada. :D

And she can't even defend herself right now because she doesn't have mi-fi access. :(

Oh, Im sure Penny will come back and smack us with some sweet maple bacon or something. :D

I love sweet maple bacon. Best...stuff....everrrrr.

Sorry for the Adirondack derailment *see what I did there?*

No, that means she's taken up temporary residence in Canada.
Is that like the "temporary suspension" of the SL-East?

Nope, not at all. She'll only be there 1 night, before moving on. Although she will return for another night, before again moving on.

I am back at the hotel after dinner. Even though I an attempting to speak the little French that I have learned in the last few months, no one would mistake me for a resident of Montreal. Thanks to Alan's detailed and brilliant directions, I found my way to the hotel (in the rain). Because of the rain, I thought about taking a cab, but when the taxi driver told me he did not know where the hotel was (and I did), I decided to walk and saved $10. :)

I have my ticket for Halifax already and I know where the lounge is located.

If you found a taxi driver who didn't know where Rue Peel was, then you were better off walking!

For those who don't know, Peel Street is two block away from the train station, meaning that any taxi driver who didn't know where that was is not the person I want driving my cab.

Agreed. Alan. I once got lost in Shreveport LA because a cabbie didnt even know where my hotel was, and he was like do you know how to get back to your hotel, im like ummmmm isnt that your job to know where all the hotels are? I dont live here, I dont know street directions here .

Im glad Penny is ok though :)

Hey Penny, is Canadian rain colder than U.S rain? :p
No, the rain was not colder, but I was cold when I got into my room. The thermostat is in Celsius and I do not know how to convert. I had to go to Google to determine where to set my thermostat. I increased it from 21 to 24, and I am comfortable, for now.

However, the TV is getting US networks and CNN in English ( although the Channel Guide, guide des chaines television, is in French)
