Thats strange, English Channels, French guide. Id love to slap the stoner who thought that it would be funny to confuse travelers, no not the_traveler, but travelerssss.....by giving them English channels with French guides.

Fortunately, the channel guide is very easy to figure out, even for a Floridian, Dave. NBC is the same in French and English. :lol:Thats strange, English Channels, French guide. Being from Florida, I am better with Spanglish. :lol:Lucky being of Cajun heritage, I can sort of deal with the French/English mix.
When we met at NTD, did you think I was from New England? People are always asking where I'm from as I sound, to them, like I'm from Boston or England. And I'm better at New Englandese. Chow-dah, lobs-tah, etc...
To speak true Bostonese, you can not pronounce any "R"s, If a word has an "R" in it, substitute "ah"!When we met at NTD, did you think I was from New England? I spent my first 11 years in GA then the rest has been here in DE. I keep saying that I need to go to Boston to find out what I sound like.
Hmm? How does one handle the R if one tends to pronounce her R's like W's and her W's like R's? Doesn't help that my maiden name starts with an R and my married name starts with a W. :blink:To speak true Bostonese, you can not pronounce any "R"s, If a word has an "R" in it, substitute "ah"!When we met at NTD, did you think I was from New England? I grew up in upstate New York, moved to Nevada and Arizona before finally settling in Rhode Island, Still people think that I do not speak American!
Yeah, it is. I got in the habit a long time ago just to spell my last name for people. Of course, now that I've been learning ASL, maybe I should just fingerspell my name...think that would work?Thats a bit of a predicament there AB. Haha.
Good thing you clarified the BSL, which, in reality, is British Sign Language.Only if you use BSL (Bostonian Sign Language)!Much involves using only 1 finger!
I hope the REAL Adirondack dosen't derail!Oh, Im sure Penny will come back and smack us with some sweet maple bacon or something.
I love sweet maple bacon. Best...stuff....everrrrr.
Sorry for the Adirondack derailment *see what I did there?*
We'd probably get splashed over here on the other side of Champlain.Me too. The REAL Adirondack is a mountain range with many mountains above 4,000 feet! It would take a MAJOR MAJOR earthquake for all of them to derail!
I can be a bit directionally challenged at times  and I would be afraid of getting lost underground. I arrived back in Montreal this morning from Halifax and rain was predicted. In asked the locals about walking underground and they told me it is a much longer walk and could be confusing. It was not raining when I arrived and I made the walk above around very easily. You know that you can walk underground from the Montreal train station to the Rue Peel exit literally across the street from the Residence Inn at the corner of Sherbrooke! Not really necessary this time of year but it sure is nice to do when you are in Montreal in the winter!
Not sure about that one, but I can tell you that it can get very cold there. However, I think that Timmins still beats Montreal in that department. One of the locals told me that it gets colder in Montreal than it does in Moscow in the winter. Could that be true?
And if you want a window seat, get there at least an hour before departure so as to be near the head of the line. It grows very fast! Or pay the hefty tip for a Redcap to take your bags down early and secure a seat for you.The Adirondack was just getting ready to board when I arrived in Montreal. I am on Sunday's (tomorrow's) train, which is almost sold out. I guess I will not have 2 seats to myself.
