However, I think that Timmins still beats Montreal in that department.One of the locals told me that it gets colder in Montreal than it does in Moscow in the winter. Could that be true?
And if you want a window seat, get there at least an hour before departure so as to be near the head of the line. It grows very fast! Or pay the hefty tip for a Redcap to take your bags down early and secure a seat for you.The Adirondack was just getting ready to board when I arrived in Montreal. I am on Sunday's (tomorrow's) train, which is almost sold out. I guess I will not have 2 seats to myself.
That said, the train isn't sold out out of Montreal, it's sold out as of Albany. I can still buy 8 tickets between Montreal and Schenectady for tomorrow. I'm sure that there will still be a considerable crowd crossing the border with you, but it won't be a sell out until Albany.
