I'll go along with Jim but the most absolutely worse thing that can happen on ANY train is for the diner or CCC to go bad order. There is no choice of what you get that they drag on board and my cardiologist would blush at most of it.BTW JIM, I think the potatoes taste more like left over...

I had to go through my employer's pass bureau to get a new pass. I think Amtrak won't act unless the pass request comes from the home road...good luck. :)

Rumor has it there are Amtrak employees called "Spotters." In my opinion they could save that money by requiring those responsible for each individual LD train, the On Board Service Managers, to unglue themselves from their desks and climb aboard. :angry:

This is extremely important !!! You need to go back to the station and fill out a pax injury report and GO IMMEDIATELY to your doctor if you have not done so...I've seen too many pax brush off what they "thought" was nothing serious only to be left holding the bag for expenses that Amtrak should...

Now that's a plan~ the Berkshires are snow covered that time of year and the train meanders across MA :)

Jerry~ if every on board manager acted on pax complaints cell phoned in I'm afraid a lot of OBS would be collecting RRB unemployment. There's two sides to every story and I'm sure the employee and the unions would be fuming if a TA was pulled out of service on the word of a pax. I'll be the...

Very good point Betty. The On Board Service Manager gets an e-mail copy of the complaint and they seldom, if ever, immeditely react. I did call the Supt. in NOL about the bad order CCC (sodium bomb sandwiches for dinner, greasy donuts for breakfast)on the way back from St. Louis AU Gathering and...

I have to differ with you...if you're paying for first class and get Dinty Moore or nothing, (I honestly don't know which is better) than you are in the equivalent of a third world country scraping together whatever there is or going without.

The J.W. Marriott (NOT "The Marriott) on Canal Street is close to everything as can be a good buy during the off season. It's about three blocks from the aquarium and two blocks from Bourbon Street. There's one heck of a good steak house inside the hotel.

I don't know of too many companies, in this economy, who aren't looking for ways to fill their treasuries.
